Terms of service
The rules for using this website and for asking us to scan a site. Written for what ConformWatch does today; they will grow when the product does.
1. Who we are, and agreement
ConformWatch is operated by Letrix Labs, a trading name of Dime Corporation Ltd (Company No. 13175488), registered at 124 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom (“ConformWatch”, “we”, “us”). By using conformwatch.com or asking us to scan a website, you agree to these terms. If you act for a company or agency, you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2. What the service is today
Today, ConformWatch runs accessibility scans arranged by email: you send us a site, we scan it and send back a report. There are no customer accounts yet and no charges — if we agree paid work, its price and terms are agreed in writing at the time. How we handle data, including everything a scan touches, is set out in theprivacy policy; agencies can also sign ourdata processing agreement.
3. Authority to scan
When you ask us to scan a site, you confirm that you own it, manage it, or act with the authority of whoever does. That confirmation is a promise we rely on: we scan as the site operator’s authorised agent, and if the confirmation turns out to be false, responsibility for the consequences sits with you, not us. We may decline or stop any scan at our discretion, and we stop scanning any site whose owner asks us to. If you point us at a staging or preview site, you are responsible for what it contains.
4. How we scan
The scanner fetches publicly reachable pages only. It is deliberately rate-limited — sequential requests, never parallel — takes no screenshots, handles no logins or credentials, never interacts with cookie banners, and identifies itself with a user-agent linking to conformwatch.com/scanner. Because scans are authorised by the site’s manager, robots.txt rules are not applied by default; you can ask us to honour them, and you can exclude specific URLs from every scan.
5. What a report is — and is not
Automated checks cover a subset of the accessibility criteria; the rest needs a person. A ConformWatch report is a record of what automated checks found on the pages scanned on a given date. It is not a certificate of compliance with WCAG, the European Accessibility Act, the Equality Act or anything else — nobody can sell you one of those — and it is not legal advice. Do not present a report as more than it is; a clean scan means the automated checks passed, nothing further.
The report is yours to use and to share with your client. We may keep using anonymised, text-stripped scan data to improve the product, and may publish aggregated, anonymised statistics that identify no site, client or agency, as described in the privacy policy.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use ConformWatch to probe, benchmark or gather information about websites you have no authority over; misrepresent our reports or our findings; attempt to overload, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service; or use it for anything unlawful.
7. Liability
The service and its reports are provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, and while the service is provided free of charge our total liability arising out of or relating to it is limited to £100.
8. Stopping
You can stop using the service at any time, and we can decline to continue providing it. On request we delete the scan data and reports we hold for you, subject to the retention rules in the privacy policy.
9. Changes
We may update these terms as the product develops; the date at the top is the record. Material changes will be flagged to anyone we are actively working with.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If something goes wrong, email [email protected] first and give us 30 days to sort it out informally; after that, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction — except that consumers keep any mandatory protections and court rights of the country where they live.
